Congratulations Captain Alpha!

The Milestone staff is honored to congratulate Dave Coult, who was selected by Lehigh Valley Business as one of their “Forty Under 40”!! An awards ceremony was held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the historic Hotel Bethlehem to celebrate 40 young professionals who were selected by a panel of judges as leaders in their professions and communities. The theme of the night was “Super Heroes”. Each award recipient was asked what super hero name and power they would choose if they had the chance. There were a lot of funny names and interesting powers, but there was a common theme – many of the honorees chose super powers that involved gaining time in some way – pausing time; time travel; the ability to be in two places at once. That desire to be everywhere, and give themselves fully to all aspects of their lives, is a big part of what makes this dynamic group of professionals the trail blazers who make the Lehigh Valley a great place to live and work!

Racing for a Cause

Team Milestone laced up their running shoes Sunday, April 21 at DeSales University to represent Rotary District 7430 in the Yvette M. Palmer Purple Pinkie 5k.

Yvette M. Palmer was a Rotarian for over 20 years and held leadership roles of all kinds, chaired major fund-raising campaigns, and taught others by example and word how they could be of service. As Rotary District 7430 Governor in 2002-2003, Yvette led the Polio Eradication Campaign, raising over $360,000.

Unfortunately, Yvette lost her battle with lymphoma in December 2011. This race was dedicated
in honor of her and her passion to live Service Above Self.
Over $4,700 was raised at the event to help eradicate polio worldwide!

Milestone Out on the Town

Dave is part of a small group of business executives who host gatherings of interesting people for unique events for the purpose of networking and having fun! They lightheartedly refer to their group as the "Opportunity Schmooze Club" (OSC)!

The most recent OSC event was a Frog Holler concert on March 14, 2013. Frog Holler, whom the Philadelphia Inquirer called "Berks County's best known rock band" played a special show, just for clients and friends of the OSC, at Landhaven, a historic bed and breakfast in Huffs Church, PA.

The evening began with drinks and appetizers, followed by 2 sets by Frog Holler. Guests had plenty of time to mingle and socialize while enjoying great live music!

If you would like to learn more about the beautiful and hospitable Landhaven Bed and Breakfast, please visit their website at www.landhavenbandb.com.

There are also lots of samples of Frog Holler's bluegrass/indy/folk/rock-a-billy stylings on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBeC9TISHz8

Milestone on Wall Street!

August 13thwas an exciting morning for me! I was invited to attend the opening bell celebration for the launch of several new Exchange Traded Funds by Global X. After enjoying breakfast in the boardroom, our group was escorted onto the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where I had the opportunity to chat with Barclays’ floor traders, enjoy the live taping of CNBC’s Squawk on the Streetwith David Faber, Jim Cramer, and crew, and cheer on the opening bell! I even made it on TV!

Go Team Milestone!

Sunday, April 29 proved to be a great day for a run for team Milestone! The sun was shining and a cool breeze was blowing like it was custom ordered for the 3,217 participants who showed up for the annual St. Luke’s Half-Marathon and 5k to support local youth running programs. A dozen live bands performed along the 13.1 mile course to keep energy levels high.

Racing for Aunt Martha

Dave’s latest race proved to be an emotionally driven one. Dave often participates in races to help raise money for charitable organizations and this time was no different. The St. Luke's Lehigh Valley Half Marathon was a key event for Team in Training (TNT), a program run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which Dave has joined.

The reason behind Dave’s decision to join TNT, in particular, and to participate in the St. Luke’s Lehigh Valley Half Marathon this year, was his Aunt Martha. Dave’s aunt lives in Buffalo, New York. She is married with two daughters, one in college and one in high school. She was diagnosed earlier this year with leukemia and is undergoing extensive and exhausting rounds of chemotherapy to try to beat her illness. Dave joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training to raise money for the cause and to show support for her.
