Jeff Lanscek, CFP®, ChFC® – Specializing in Individual and Family Financial Planning
Making the most out of any situation is how I live my life. Early on, I gravitated to playing sports, especially basketball and baseball (where I was always the smallest player on the team). No matter the odds, my family, especially my dad who was my coach, pushed me to be the best. That drive to be the best and make the most out of myself guided me through my school years and continues today in my professional career.
I am a lifelong resident of Bethlehem. I attended Bethlehem Catholic High School, and my first jobs included working for the City of Bethlehem and Bethlehem Steel. After high school, I went on to study at Lehigh, where I graduated with a B.S. in Finance. After college, I worked for two years at SEI Investments and Guardian Insurance. While I enjoyed my time there, it wasn’t the career I was looking for. A local independent financial planning firm offered me an opportunity to find my footing on the path I was searching for. While I was there, I passed numerous securities licenses, paraplanner designation, and finally my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant®) designation. I am very proud that while working full-time and maintaining a family balance with a wife and three daughters, I was able to achieve these designations. At my previous firm, I spent 18 years overseeing portfolio operations, portfolio modeling with a focus on tax efficiency, financial planning, trading, and technology while guiding clients through the financial planning process.
When I am not working, I spend my time with my wife, Annie, and my three daughters: Mckinzie, Mckayla (Coco), and Mckiley.
Our family enjoys staying very active and traveling. My wife was a stay-at-home mom and part-time piano teacher before stepping back into the workforce in the marketing space, where she’s passionate about combining strategic storytelling with community and business growth. She graduated from Fordham University’s pre-med program with a major in psychology and a minor in music (it’s not Lehigh, as I tease her). She is also a long-standing member of the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley, which promotes volunteerism specializing in educational disparity. My kids are in school and starting to develop their own personalities. Our kids participate in horseback riding, volleyball, and Girl Scouts of America. For fun, I enjoy golfing as much as time allows. Every Sunday a few friends and I get together at a different course and challenge ourselves. I am still looking for that illustrious hole-in-one!
My family and friends try (and are successful at) visiting most restaurant/breweries/wineries in the Lehigh Valley. So, if anyone has a foodie question, I am your guy!
I am very happy working at Milestone with such a talented team to serve our clients. I look forward to utilizing my 20-plus-years of experience to help guide our clients through the challenging financial decisions life presents. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to work in downtown Bethlehem, where my family and I spend most of our time. Hopefully, this short bio gives you an insight into my life. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story!
